In this privacy policy (the “Policy”) any reference to “we”, “us” and “our”

Any reference to “you”, means you as a user of our website http://www.riotintobrandcentral.com (the “Site”).
The purpose of the Site is to provide you with information and materials to support you in the implementation of our visual identity. You are not authorised to use the Site for any
other purpose.
In this Policy, the term “Rio Tinto Group” means Rio Tinto plc (a company registered in England and Wales with company number 00719885), Rio Tinto Limited
(a company registered in Australia (ACN 004 458 404)) and each subsidiary (as defined in section 736 of the UK Companies Act 1985 (as from time to time amended, consolidated,
re-enacted or replaced) thereof.
This Policy (together with our terms of use www.riotinto.com/terms_conditions.asp
and any other documents referred to on the Site) sets out, amongst other things, (i) the terms upon which you may make use of the Site (including the proprietary information that is contained on the Site);
and (ii) the basis on which any personal data (meaning any information about you which is personally identifiable like your name, address, telephone number or email address, generally referred to throughout
this Policy as “personal data”) we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be used.

you accept these terms of use and that you agree to abide by them. If you do not agree to these terms of use, please refrain from using the Site.

Information we may collect from you

IP addresses and cookies
We may collect information about your
computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and other purposes. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns,
and does not identify any individual.
We may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information
that is transferred to your computer's hard drive and they help us to improve the structure of the Site. We use cookies and other such devices to allow us to understand who has seen which pages on the Site,
to determine how frequently particular pages are visited and content accessed, to determine the most popular areas of the Site and generally to monitor usage of the Site.

Where we store your personal data
The data that we collect from you will be transferred to and initially stored in New York in the USA and may be transferred to, and stored at, another location outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or other members of the Rio Tinto Group. Such staff maybe engaged in, amongst other things, the placing of orders with you, the processing of your billing details and the provision of support services. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Policy.
All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
Uses made of the information

Your rights
The Site may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers and other members of the Rio Tinto Group. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and terms of use and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies or terms of use. Please check these policies and terms of use before you submit any personal data to these websites.
Access to information
The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.
Accessing this site
Access to the Site is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide on the Site without notice (see below). We will not be liable if for any reason the Site is unavailable at any time or for any period.
From time to time, we may restrict access to some parts of the Site, or the entire Site, to users who have registered with us.
If you choose, or you are provided with, a user identification code, password or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential, and you must not disclose it to any third party. Our (or the relevant member of the Rio Tinto Group’s) status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of material and the owners of all trade marks on the Site must always be acknowledged unless otherwise agreed in writing by us.
You must not use any part of the materials on the Site for commercial purposes other than in accordance with the terms of the relevant agreement that we, or another member of the Rio Tinto Group, has entered into with you.
If you print off, copy or download any part of the Site in breach of this Policy, your right to use the Site will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

Reliance on information posted
Commentary and other materials posted on the Site are not intended to amount to advice on which reliance should be placed. We therefore disclaim all liability and responsibility arising from any reliance placed on such materials by any visitor to the Site, or by anyone who may be informed of any of its contents.
The site changes regularly
We aim to update the Site regularly, and may change the content at any time. If the need arises, we may suspend access to the Site, or close it indefinitely. Any of the material on our Site may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update such material.
Viruses, hacking and other offences
You must not misuse the Site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, the server on which the Site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to the Site. You must not attack the Site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack.
We will report any breaches of these provisions to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use the Site will cease immediately.
We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of the Site or to your downloading of any material posted on it, or on any website linked to it.

Third party rights

Jurisdiction and applicable law
The English courts will have exclusive jurisdiction over any claim arising from, or related to, a visit to the Site although we retain the right to bring proceedings against you for breach of this Policy in your country of residence or any other relevant country. This Policy is governed by English law.
